Between Sami and EJ, There Will Be Plenty of Chaos

Sami’s probably more interested in her new grandchild than in EJ’s drama, which is a good thing, but it won’t stop her from having some sort of run-in with him.

 

I hope that we get the new, more mature Sami who has visited the last few times she landed at the Salem Airport and not the one who is likely to have a massive meltdown over Belle having dated EJ.

The only thing I want Sami to say about that is “I told you so.”

After witnessing years of the EJ/Sami cycle, Belle should have known to stay far away.

Sami finally figured out that EJ was an abusive loser, and it needs to stay like that. No giving this one the Eric/Nicole treatment, please.

Sami will have another surprise that is sure to get fans talking: she’s engaged!

Everyone associated with the show is very tight-lipped about who the guy is. (Or, maybe Sami will be engaged to a woman — not likely, but you never know with Sami Brady, and that might make a cool story!)

My first choice for her would be Lucas, but that’s probably a pipe dream.

I wish, though.

I know Lucas had Sami kidnapped, and if this were real life, I wouldn’t want her to ever cross paths with him again after that.

But in terms of what happens in Salem, Lucas paying someone to abduct Sami so she won’t go back to her abusive ex is one of the tamest things ever.

And come on! EJ had Sami kidnapped more than once, raped her on at least one occasion, and made her think Johnny was dead to punish her once when the kids were little, yet she gave him another chance after each of those serious transgressions.

If she can do that, she can let go of her grudge against Lucas, can’t she? And he IS coming to the gala (Yay!) so…

If Sami isn’t engaged to Lucas, she’s probably with a character who isn’t currently on canvas.

Most of the eligible men in Salem are her exes, and they’re all accounted for and not having a secret long-distance romance with Sami.

With all the talk about Dmitri, there’s been speculation that he’s the man who will walk in with Sami, but that doesn’t make sense.

The whole reason for this nonsensical feud between Gwen and Leo is that Dmitri is gay and tried to sleep with Leo while using Gwen as his token wife so he could gain an inheritance.

Another fan theory that makes way more sense is that Sami’s new beau is Stefan DiMera.

Stefan is not actually dead. Vivian kidnapped him to get him away from Gabi. (Yes, she did the same thing Lucas did.)

And Sami hung out with Vivian at the airport while they both waited for the same flight.

The two of them acted like BFFs when, in the past, they were bitter enemies. This was weird.

It could also mean they’re working together, though any plan that includes bringing Stefan back to Salem —aka the place where Gabi lives —is a bad idea because of Gabi’s unfinished business with him.

Lots of Big Returns, but I’m Most Excited for Lani!

I never thought I’d say THAT.

Back in the days of that awful story where Lani had sex with a blacked out drunk JJ, and all of Salem treated him as the bad guy when he was too incapacitated to consent, I hated Lani and wanted her to turn out not to be Abe’s.

But right now, Abe and Theo both need Lani’s influence in their lives. The two of them are being incredibly obnoxious, to the point of bordering on character assassination.

Abe keeps trying to control Theo’s life, even working with EJ to get Theo removed from the CEO position, and Theo isn’t much better, with his constant accusations of racism and ableism against anyone. challenges him in any way.

Lani will try to talk some sense into Abe while she is in town, so let’s hope she gets through to him.

What’s An Anniversary Without a Ton of Nostalgia?

Days of Our Lives does flashbacks well when it’s using them to celebrate older characters instead of to remind us of what happened 20 minutes ago.

I’m super excited that Marie Horton will be back for the gala, and that she’ll be entertaining questions about family history from Tate and Holly, who are doing a class project.

Marie and Julie are the two longest-running characters in Days of Our Lives history, so they will have some fascinating stories — and some things they don’t want to say, since Jeremy will be pushing them to reveal secrets.

In the meantime, the gala itself will descend into chaos, thanks to EJ — but what Days of Our Lives huge event doesn’t?

Whatever EJ’s plans are, they appear to include Kristen wearing a blindfold.

The woman’s voice sounds like Stacy Haiduk to me, and the face resembles Kristen enough for it to be possible — and in fact, Haiduk confirmed it on her Instagram after the trailer was released

That doesn’t make much sense, though. Kristen is alive and relatively well, serving a sentence for shooting EJ so that nobody will find out that Rachel did that.

Maybe Haiduk is hiding a twist that the woman is Penelope, Susan Banks’ sister — but again, there’s no real reason for that.
