Chris Robinson has sadly died.
The actor, best known for his role as Dr. Rick Webber on General Hospital and Jack Hamilton on The Bold & The Beautiful, passed away at the age of 86 on June 9, his friend actor MJ Allen confirmed on social media.
“He peacefully passed in his sleep at his ranch near Sedona, Arizona,” the actor wrote on Facebook, adding: “He had been in heart failure for some time, and is his official cause of death.”

Chris got his Hollywood start in Sea Hunt, Death Valley Days, 77 Sunset Strip, Gunsmoke and The Fugitive.
He then landed his first major role in ABC military drama 12 O’Clock High, playing Sgt. Alexander “Sandy” Komansky.
Chris went on to star in The Man from UN.C.L.E., Hogan’s Heroes, Medical Center, Barnaby Jones and many other TV shows before joining ABC’s General Hospital in 1978 as Dr. Rick Webber.
He became famous for the “I’m Not a Doctor, But I Play One on TV” commercials for Vicks Formula 44 as well.
He later played Jason Frame on NBC’s Another World, and then Jack Hamilton on CBS’ B&B. More recently, he starred in the indie Just for a Week. Above, you can watch the actor speak about his experience with chronic pain and finding relief with CBD.
He is survived by his wife of 14 years, Jacquie; sons Shane, Coby, Christian, Taylor, Christopher Robinson, Christopher Lance and Robb Walker; and five grandchildren. Our thoughts are with his loved ones at this incredibly difficult time.
We have sadly lost manty stars in 2025.
“He peacefully passed in his sleep at his ranch near Sedona, Arizona,” Allen shared of Robinson. “He had been in heart failure for some time and is his official cause of death.”
Robinson appeared alongside Allen in the 2002 indie Just for a Week but viewers will always remember him from his various daytime roles. In 1978, he landed the role of Dr. Rick Webber, Elizabeth’s uncle, on General Hospital and appeared on and off until 2013. Longtime Port Charles fans will recall the drama that came from the character’s romantic entanglement that involved his wife Lesley (the late Denise Alexander), Alan (the late Stuart Damon) and his wife Monica (the late Leslie Charleson). In 1988, he took on the role of Jason Frame on Another World and stayed with the NBC soap until 1989. He then went over to CBS in 1992 to play Jack Hamilton on Bold & Beautiful, the father of Taylor Hayes, until 2005.

The ABC soap took to their Instagram to share photos of the actor and stated, “General Hospital’s enduring legacy owes a debt of gratitude to Chris Robinson and his portrayal of Dr. Rick Webber. Our hearts go out to his family and friends as they mourn their loss. May he rest in peace.”
With over 100 credits to his name, he was a presence in the American military drama 12 O’Clock High and appeared in numerous other shows and films such as Young Doctors in Love, Hotel, Murder She Wrote, Fantasy Island, Like Father Like Son and many, many more.
Soaps.com sends our deepest condolences to Robinson’s wife Jacquie, who he married in April 2011, as well as his sons, grandchildren, extended family and friends.
