General Hospital (GH) spoilers reveal that Kirsten Storms (Maxie Jones) recently clarified where things stand when it comes to her future at the ABC soap. Storms has been dealing with plenty of difficult personal drama, so she addressed some of her off-screen issues in an Instagram post.

Of course, Storms also wanted to highlight the fact that her daughter, Harper Rose Barash, comes first.

There’s nothing more important to Storms than her child, so that’s a big factor in why she’s made her latest career decision.

Kirsten Storms confirmed that under the circumstances, she can’t say she’ll feel comfortable returning to Los Angeles for a GH comeback.

With that in mind, many fans are already awaiting a Maxie Jones recast announcement.

Since Cassius Faison (Ryan Paevey) has taken over Nathan West’s (Ryan Paevey) life and fooled almost everyone in Port Charles, Maxie deserves a chance to find out that shocker and react accordingly.

Cassius duped Maxie and has been lying to her son, James West (Gary James Fuller), as well.

Maxie has every right to put Cassius on full blast since he’s tarnished Nathan’s memory and set James up for heartbreak.

There’ll come a point when James will inevitably find out his “dad” is actually his twisted uncle.

Cassius has been masquerading as Nathan this whole time, so James is going to be devastated once the truth comes to light.

This story will be a major disappointment if Maxie doesn’t appear on-screen again to rage at Cassius.

It’s possible the writers will work around it and just say that Maxie ripped into Cassius off-screen, but it’d be better if fans could see the blowup for themselves.

A Maxie recast could be in the works if the powers that be agree her confrontation scenes with Cassius are too important to miss out on.

Even if it’s a short-term recast situation, Maxie could come back into the picture briefly in some form.

Nicole Paggi, Molly Burnett and Jen Lilley have all filled in for Kirsten Storms in the past.

The show’s proven that they’re willing to provide a Storms alternative when necessary, so maybe a Maxie recast will indeed hit Port Charles soon.

We should also mention that Kelly Kruger is stepping into the role of Serena Baldwin (previously portrayed by Carly Schroeder) and will show back up in PC this July.

Serena’s sudden inclusion may be partly a way to deal with Maxie’s absence since she has similar connections on canvas and can perhaps take over Maxie’s role at Deception.

It’s possible that Maxie could be recast briefly and then leave town for a while to gather her thoughts after all this Cassius chaos.

Serena could fill the Maxie void that’s left behind.

Regardless, General Hospital spoilers say more cast changes could be announced before long, so stay tuned.
