General Hospital’s Temporary Recast Shocker, Another Casting Shakeup Revealed

General Hospital (GH) spoilers indicate that one Port Charles resident will be sporting a different look this week.

GH was forced to recast a role temporarily ahead of a permanent recast, so let’s talk about this tricky situation.

You’ve probably heard by now that Kayden Brenna Tokarski has taken over the role of Scout Cain (previously played by Cosette Abinante).

The character is being aged up, so that’ll be evident on-screen when Tokarski makes her debut in July.

However, it turns out there was a scheduling issue ahead of this transition.

While Cosette Abinante was still on recurring status in the part, she was unavailable to film for the episode that’ll air on Wednesday, June 17.

SOD reports that Reagan Park will portray Scout for just that one episode, so fans won’t be seeing her for very long.

Again, it’s Tokarski who’ll be the permanent Scout recast once she makes her first appearance next month.

Of course, this isn’t the first time GH has been forced to rely on temporary recasts to keep their filming schedule on track.

Earlier this year, Patrick Scott Lewis filled in for Daniel Cosgrove in the part of Ezra Boyle.

In the past, viewers have also seen temporary recasts for Maxie Jones (Kirsten Storms), Lucky Spencer (Jonathan Jackson) and many more.

Sometimes it’s just a necessary part of the soap world, so we’re always grateful to the performers who are willing to step up on short notice and keep the drama going strong.

After Reagan Park’s brief time playing Scout, we can look forward to seeing what Kayden Brenna Tokarski will bring to the table.

Tokarski’s permanent recast status will allow her to be part of some great teenage stories for Scout down the road.
