Shock in the New Season: 7 Little Johnstons Return… But Anna’s Absence Leaves Fans Heartbroken 💔
The 7 Little Johnstons Season 17 premiere date is just around the corner — and TLC shared a trailer for the new season exclusively with Parade.
In late May 2025, Trent and Amber Johnston‘s daughter, Liz Johnston, got engaged to her longtime boyfriend, Brice Bolden, with whom she shares a daughter, Leighton. Season 17 will follow the lead-up to their wedding day, as well as the death of a close family member.

“This is definitely going to be a quick engagement,” Liz declared in the super-tease. To that, Amber pointed out, “Between now and November, we have a lot to get done.”
This season will follow Liz as she searchesfor the perfect wedding dress and plans for her big day with the help of her family — all while the Johnstons navigate the declining health of Trent’s mother, Mary Alice Maddox Johnston, aka “Nana.”
“For the past six months, Nana has been in hospice care,” Trent shared. “We are concerned she is not going to be able to attend the wedding.” (Sadly, in October 2025, Nana, died before Liz and Brice married in early November 2025.)
Elsewhere in the trailer, Liz revealed, “We are planning to have the wedding in my parents’ backyard,” as Amber admitted, “We are feeling the stress.”
Liz also declared, “Our wedding is not some redneck shindig,” in response to Brice wanting to wear a suit with a hunting-themed undershirt and tie.
“It is wet, it is rainy, it is muddy. More rain is coming,” Liz acknowledged. “We really have to pray that the rain just goes away in time for the ceremony. I may be walking down the aisle in the pouring rain.”
Although Amber and Trent’s other kids — Emma Johnston, Jonah Johnston, and Alex Johnston — appeared in the Season 17 trailer, missing entirely was their oldest daughter, Anna Johnston, amid their ongoing feud.
For those wanting to see how Liz and Brice’s wedding came together despite the hurdles along the way, 7 Little Johnstons Season 17 premieres on Tuesday, March 17 at 9 p.m. ET on TLC.
