Records from the Collier County Sheriff’s Office and the County Clerk’s Office indicate that the crash involved two vehicles. Witness reports stated that Zenk was backing out of a handicap parking space when her car struck the vehicle next to her. According to the same witness, Zenk attempted to leave the scene before she was stopped just down the road.

The arresting officer reported that Zenk said she’d had two glasses of wine at Bar Tulia. During the field sobriety tests, the officer noted that she had difficulty maintaining her balance. She provided two breath samples, which registered blood alcohol levels of 0.206 and 0.192.

Zenk was released on bond on May 16 and filed a waiver so that she would not be required to appear in person for her June 10 court date. Through her attorney, she pleaded not guilty, and a pretrial continuance was scheduled for July 29.
