The Chrisleys: Back to Reality Trailer: Tears, Family Drama and Unseen Post Footage
Just months after being released from prison, Todd and Julie Chrisley are returning to television with a new Lifetime series, “The Chrisleys: Back to Reality.”
The show, which daughter Savannah Chrisley previously announced to reporters in May as she waited to reunite with her parents, will follow the couple as well as their children and in-laws as they adjust to life after prison.

Lifetime uploaded a five-minute trailer for the show July 31 that revealed a large portion of the series will also focus on how the bond between Savannah Chrisley and her family members unraveled while her parents were imprisoned.
Todd and Julie Chrisley, who previously led the USA Network show “Chrisley Knows Best,” were indicted by a federal grand jury in Atlanta in 2019 for 12 counts of wire fraud, conspiracy to commit bank fraud and conspiracy to defraud the United States.
The two reality stars were convicted of federal fraud charges and were sentenced to a combined 19 years in prison. Todd Chrisley was sent to the Federal Prison Camp, Pensacola in Florida and was initially given a sentence of 12 years before it was reduced by two years. His wife, whom he has been married to since 1996, was given seven years at Federal Medical Center, Lexington in Kentucky. Her sentence was shortened by 14 months.
After they started serving their time, Savannah Chrisley began to advocate for their release.
On May 28, Trump agreed to pardon the pair and phoned Savannah Chrisley and brother Grayson Chrisley from the Oval Office to share the news. A video of the conversation was posted on X.
Todd and Julie Chrisley were released from their respective prisons the same day, after more than two years behind bars. Now, they are ready to share their “truth” about the experience.

What Happens in ‘The Chrisleys: Back to Reality’ Trailer?
The lengthy trailer previewing the upcoming series begins with a clip of Savannah Chrisley calling her dad in prison as he reassures her that the family will “get through” their federal convictions.
There is also audio from Julie Chrisley in which she expresses her wish to be reunited with her husband, children, parents and mother-in-law.
The trailer then recaps the family’s rise to fame through “Chrisley Knows Best” as Chase Chrisley says behind the scenes they were “fighting a fed case.”
Following the guilty verdict, the tone of the trailer takes a turn. Savannah Chrisley becomes emotional recalling her goodbye with Todd Chrisley. The show will seemingly document the family’s struggles as they attempted to navigate life without Todd and Julie Chrisley.
‘The Chrisleys: Back to Reality’ Cast
Part of the trailer focuses on the family being concerned about Chase Chrisley’s wellbeing. “Chase is not Chase,” Savannah Chrisley says. “Like, it’s literally like a blank shell.”
She adds, “He needs help. There’s a part of me that’s so afraid that he’s going to die, that I literally don’t even want to try to have a relationship with him.”
The rest of the household is “divided,” too, she shares.
The clip confirms that children Savannah Chrisley, Chase Chrisley and Grayson Chrisley as well as their grandparents, “Nanny” Faye Chrisley and Pam and Harvey Hughes will be included in the show.

Todd and Julie Chrisley are shown reuniting and sitting for an interview at the end of the trailer.
“Well, we survived,” Julie Chrisley tells her husband while they hug.
“I’m looking at this as me exposing the truth. And depending on how long this interview goes, you might see more than what you bargained for,” he adds.
What Have the Chrisleys Said About Their New Lifetime Show?
On May 28, shortly before her parents were released from prison, Savannah Chrisley spoke to reporters about how Todd and Julie Chrisley planned to spend their first days of freedom, sharing that they would soon start filming their Lifetime show.
“We have a new show coming out on Lifetime, and it will document all of these things,” she shared at the time.
Savannah Chrisley confirmed that her parents had not spoken in the past two and a half years. She said their lack of contact with each other had been “extremely difficult.”
She also shared at the time that her parents’ 29th wedding anniversary was a few days away.
“So when they reunite, we’re going to celebrate anniversaries, birthdays, Christmases, all the things, because we’re going to make up for the lost time,” she continued. “But I wouldn’t have it any other way.”
As she reflected on the past two years away from her parents, Savannah Chrisley said she has grown during their absence.
“I am a privileged white girl, I (didn’t) know that there was a system that operated this way,” she said.
Savannah Chrisley added, “My parents going to prison — I thank God for it, because it opened my eyes to something so much greater than ourselves. It opened my eyes to the men and women in this system that need people to fight for them.”
She said she was “so grateful” to be able to leave the prison with her dad.
