Next, Dr. Stephanie Simmons (Vivica A. Fox) will show up with some huge news since she’s been offered the chief of staff position at Genoa City Memorial Hospital.

Holden will find out Stephanie hasn’t accepted the job yet since she wanted to talk to him first.

Stephanie will worry about her paternity deception, but Holden will point out that he already forgave her for that.

Since Holden will like the idea of having his mom around, he’ll give Stephanie the green light to take the position.

At Society, Malcolm Winters (Shemar Moore) will interrupt Lily and Cane’s discussion about whether he’ll agree to run Chancellor.

Malcolm will want to talk to Cane privately, so Lily will head over to the bar.

There’ll be some sweet moments as Malcolm thanks Cane for giving him another chance at life and shakes his hand.

That said, Malcolm will warn Cane that if he hurts Lily again, Cane will have to answer to him.

Cane will understand that, but he’ll feel like he has to at least try to prove himself to Lily.

Later, Cane will make a promise to Lily herself about not hurting her again and will accept the Chancellor CEO offer.

Once Malcolm heads to the park café, he’ll get an introduction to Claire when he finds her with Stephanie and Holden.

At the Newman ranch, Nick Newman (Joshua Morrow) will balk when Victor insists Matt should live at the ranch-hand apartment.

Victor will think it’s best to keep Matt close, so Nick will ultimately relent.

As for Matt’s test to prove his redemption, Victor will want him to become Cane’s friend and ally.

The goal will be for Matt to learn everything Cane’s up to both personally and professionally before reporting back to Victor.

Matt will think this sounds shady, but Victor will argue that he won’t have to cross any physical lines.

This will just be about getting payback since Cane was partly responsible for the Newmans losing their company.

Matt will argue that Cane’s not a threat anymore since Victor got Newman Enterprises back.

Victor will disagree and feel like Cane will always be a threat as long as he’s doing business in Genoa City.

Although Matt will try to reject this whole Cane plot, Victor will make it clear that the alternative is prison.

However, if Matt’s willing to repay his debt to the Newmans and go after Cane, Victor will offer to get all the charges dropped in exchange.

Matt will want Nick’s opinion on this since he perhaps owes him more than anybody else.

Nick will go along with what Victor thinks is best, but Matt will still be a little on the fence.

Victor will finally demand a decision, so Matt will decide he’s in on going after Cane.

Adam Newman (Mark Grossman) will eventually pop up and learn all the Matt details as well.
