The Young and the Restless Wednesday, July 1 Recap | Y&R JULY 2026, 07/01 FULL EPISORE
The Young and the Restless (Y&R) recap for Wednesday, July 1, reveals that Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman) will set a trap using Patty Williams’ (Stacy Haiduk) phone while Diane Jenkins Abbott (Susan Walters) carries out a plot of her own at Dr. Laurence Markham’s (Jere Burns) house.

After Jack calls Kyle Abbott (Michael Mealor), he’ll explain that his phone died while he was at Dr. Markham’s property trying to get Diane back.
Although Jack found a broken gate and tried to enter, he was thwarted by Dr. Markham’s angry Dobermans.
Jack will shut down the idea of involving the police, but he’ll eventually come up with a new plan to trick Dr. Markham into thinking he’s communicating with Patty.
Once Jack heads home on Wednesday’s Y&R episode, he’ll see a note about Patty being in the hot tub.
That’ll give Jack some time to break in Patty’s phone and text Dr. Markham with a story about an emergency.
Jack will pretend to be Patty as he pushes for help and a meeting at their usual spot.
Meanwhile, Kyle will head off to Dr. Markham’s house in his car in hopes that Jack will successfully lure the doc away from the residence.
At Dr. Markham’s house, he’ll compliment Diane on how lovely she looks and seem like he’s becoming more interested in her beyond their doctor-patient relationship.
Diane will ask about her sedatives, but Dr. Markham will have them in his jacket pocket and will insist she can only have one before bed.
As Dr. Markham gets more comfortable, he’ll eventually take his jacket off and leave it nearby.
After Diane suggests Dr. Markham should get some wine for the meal she’s about to prepare, he’ll head down to the cellar.
That’ll give Diane an opportunity to dig into Dr. Markham’s jacket pocket and retrieve some sedatives for her next move.
Dr. Markham will return with the wine and ultimately await Diane’s special meal, but then he’ll see Jack’s emergency text and assume Patty wants to meet with him.
That’ll send Dr. Markham off in a hurry, but Diane will assure him that they’ll have dinner together when he gets back.
Once Diane is alone, she’ll open up the sedative capsules to sprinkle the contents on Dr. Markham’s food.
At Crimson Lights, Cane Ashby (Billy Flynn) will convince a reluctant Lily Winters (Christel Khalil) that he can handle Billy Abbott (Jason Thompson).
Even so, Lily will worry Billy will want to be top dog and make Cane promise to cut him loose if he starts causing destruction.
In the end, Lily will approve of Cane’s idea to give Billy a position at Chancellor, so Cane will call him up.
At the GCAC, Billy will fill Sally Spectra (Courtney Hope) in on the news of Jill Abbott’s (Lauren Koslow) homecoming and his temper tantrum over Cane taking the Chancellor throne.
After Billy admits he blurted out that he already knew about Jill being the mysterious benefactor, Sally won’t be happy about that.
Sally was supposed to keep Jill’s secret, so she’ll fear Jill could pull the plug on Spectra-Charles funding.
Billy won’t think it’s an issue since Jill didn’t have a big reaction.
Plus, Billy will argue that Jill seemed happy for him when he told her about the wedding and the baby.
After Cane summons Billy to the coffeehouse and tells him to bring Sally, they’ll all sit down with Lily on the patio.
Cane will offer Billy the head of research and development position at Chancellor and leave him suspicious about Cane’s motives.
However, Billy will play up Billy’s talent and act like he could be a valuable part of the team.
Lily will acknowledge her reservations, but she’ll also admit that Billy’s talent was never the problem.
Although Billy will be tempted to turn down the job, Cane will push him to think about it.
Billy will ultimately ask what Sally thinks, so she’ll suggest taking some time to mull it over instead of making snap decisions.
Billy and Cane will keep things civil in the end, so Lily will be impressed with Cane as they share a romantic moment alone.
The Young and the Restless spoilers say Cane and Billy are headed for trouble soon, so stay tuned to watch their rivalry erupt.
