Chrisley said the vow is part of her healing process and a step toward building a healthier future
Lindsie Chrisley says she’s taken a yearlong vow of celibacy, calling it the “healthiest thing in this moment that I could do.”
The Chrisley Knows Best alum, 36, revealed that she’s planning to remain “celibate for three hundred and sixty five days, and I fully mean that.” And as she shared on the May 18 episode of her podcast, The Southern Tea, it’s not just about abstaining from sex: “No having conversations with any man.”
As for the last day of the celibacy vow, “I’m marking it down on a calendar,” she quipped. “No, but I think that that genuinely is, like, the healthiest thing in this moment that I could do.”

Her decision comes on the heels of her then-boyfriend David Landsman’s April arrest for alleged misdemeanor battery and felony aggravated assault/strangulation. She was previously married to Will Campbell, with whom she shares a son, Jackson; Chrisley finalized her divorce from Campbell, whom she met in 2009, in 2021 after nearly ten years of marriage.
Chrisley, who first met her ex-husband when she was an undergrad at Georgia State University, reflected on how well they knew each other — and mused about the challenge of building that kind of relationship with someone else. “I was with Will for so long — I mean, twelve years is a long time and we knew each other from so many different times of life, seasons of life,” she explained. “Will knew when we were married like, ‘Okay, if there are two doors closed, it’s because Lindsie is trying to have privacy and she’s trying to take a poop. Like, I’m gonna leave her alone.’ And when we had Jackson, it’s like, ‘She wants to do the morning bottle or the morning breastfeeding by herself. I’m gonna go ahead and go take my shower.’ “
She shared that their ability to understand each other’s schedules and idiosyncrasies continued as Jackson got older. “Those are all things that I’m like, ‘Will I ever be able to learn that with another partner?’ The answer right now is no.
“I am not prepared,” she said. “At 36, it does feel like the middle of my life and I truly don’t think that I could endure any more trauma than what I’ve already gone through. Like I feel like God’s not gonna do that to me … He’s like, ‘Okay. I gave you all that you need to handle, and now we’re gonna go into a healing state.’ “

Eventually, Chrisley said, “I want to be a wife. I want to be somebody’s life partner. I want to raise kids with someone. I want to have the home life. I wanna have dinner at night every night at a kitchen table. Like I want to do all of that stuff, and so sometimes I feel like I pour into situations that aren’t deserving of it yet and that’s something that I’m learning,” she said.

Until then, the 365-day countdown is on. “I just feel, like, accountable by putting that countdown out there,” she said, calling it a “big step for me to just say, ‘Hey, guess what? Like, this is the decision that I’ve made and this is the decision that I am sticking to — and no one can talk me out of it.’ “
