‘Noah’s Completely Different’ – Lucas Adams Drops a Shocking Hint Before His Y&R Debut
When they called “That’s a wrap!” on Lucas Adams’ first day at Young & Restless, it was more like “That’s an un-wrap!” since the soap’s new Noah makes his debut Tuesday, Nov. 4, bandaged up like the Invisible Man.
Beyond the unveiling of Rory Gibson’s successor as Sharon and Nick’s son, Adams, who played Days of Our Lives’ Tripp off and on from 2017-24, is just psyched for the audience to see what’s in store for his embattled character.

“These storylines are already going in such a fun direction,” he tells TV Insider, “and I’m stoked for the fans to see them.”
Adams is also pleased as punch by the new challenge that the role presents. “Noah’s completely different from Tripp,” he says.
“Yes, they still have similar tendencies” — in that they are both basically nice guys who can’t seem to help but attract trouble — “but it’s really nice to get to play a completely different character and go down this long, twisting and turning road.”
Adams’ Young & Restless gig reunites him with a couple of familiar faces:
Tamara Braun, who played Tripp’s mom Ava on Days of Our Lives, is aboard as Shadow Room owner Sienna, and Billy Flynn, who’s still airing as Days of Our Lives’ Chad, has taken over the role of Cane from Daniel Goddard (Henry, General Hospital).
As we wait to find out where that “long, twisting and turning road” takes Noah, review his tumultuous life story in this photo-filled exposé. And get a sneak peek at the rest of the week here and in the below photo gallery.
Joining The Family
Noah Newman (Lucas Adams) is currently in a chemically induced coma to reduce the severity of the brain swelling. Fans will finally get to know him on Tuesday’s episode.
For Adams, this is a big deal. Although he made his soap opera debut in 2017 as Tripp Dalton on Days of our Lives, he never imagined that he would be immersed in a legacy family.

Being part of one of Y&R’s most prominent families is no sweat. “I definitely felt the weight,” Adams told Soap Opera Digest. “I knew this was a very big deal, and this is a very big family, so I felt that nervousness to come in.”
His casting started with an onscreen test with Nick (Joshua Morrow) and Sharon (Sharon Case). What helped his nerves was that they talked beforehand. He was so relieved with how well it went. “I felt really strongly about it, and when I got the call that I got it, I was just over the moon and couldn’t wait to get to work,” Adams said.
Soap Opera Crossovers
The soap actor was able to form a strong bond with his on-screen family. Adams admitted that everybody in the cast and crew was warm and welcoming. Y&R immediately became his new home.
However, the soap isn’t completely new to him. Adams was cast in 2012 when he was just 18 years old. At the time, Adams played Wesley, a teenage boy who interacted with Angelina, played by Diana DeGarmo from American Idol. (Here are 7 things to know about Lucas Adams.)
What’s also made Adams feel at home is sharing scenes with Tamara Braun, who played his mom, Ava, on DAYS. She was recently introduced as Sienna Bacall. In addition, Billy Flynn plays the new Cane Ashby. “I was like, ‘Oh, this is great. It’s a mini reunion with everybody,” Adams said.
A Whole New Noah
Earlier this year, Y&R fans were introduced to a different Cane, who had a whole new look and accent. The same will be said for Noah, who is currently recovering from injuries he sustained in a car accident.
In the interview, Adams hinted that Noah would reveal a more mature side of himself. But his accident could suggest that he’s in trouble. However, Adams feels that he’s “definitely a good kid and has a great heart.” Of course, this storyline won’t be without some twists and turns along the way, so hold tight.
