The Young and the Restless: Victoria is shocked by what she finds in her brother’s room

Victoria had only gone upstairs to call her brother for dinner. The house was unusually quiet that evening, and something about the silence made her uneasy. Normally, Ethan’s music would be echoing through the hallway, or he would be shouting at his video games with reckless energy. But tonight, there was nothing.

She knocked lightly on his bedroom door.

“Ethan?” she called. “Mom’s waiting downstairs.”

No answer.

Victoria hesitated before turning the handle. The door creaked open slowly, revealing a room she barely recognized.

At first glance, everything seemed normal. Clothes were scattered across the chair, textbooks lay open on the desk, and a faint smell of cologne lingered in the air. But then her eyes landed on the wall above his bed.

Photos.

Dozens of them.

Not ordinary family pictures or posters of athletes like Ethan usually collected. These were photographs of strangers—people walking down streets, sitting in cafés, entering buildings. Some pictures were circled with red ink. Others had dates written beneath them.

Victoria’s stomach tightened.

“What is this…?”

She stepped farther inside, her heartbeat growing louder with every second. On the desk sat several notebooks filled with strange notes and maps. Names were repeated over and over again. Times. Locations. Arrows connecting one person to another.

It looked obsessive.

Disturbing.

Her hands trembled as she picked up one of the notebooks. Ethan’s handwriting covered every page.

“He knows.”

“She was there again.”

“Don’t trust anyone.”

Victoria swallowed hard. None of it made sense.

Then she noticed a locked metal box partially hidden beneath the bed. Her instincts told her to leave it alone, to walk out and pretend she had seen nothing. But fear and curiosity pushed her forward.

The box wasn’t fully closed.

Carefully, she lifted the lid.

Inside were stacks of cash, several fake identification cards, and a black handgun.

Victoria gasped and stumbled backward, nearly dropping the box onto the floor. Her brother—the same boy who used to cry during sad movies and sneak snacks into her room at night—had a gun hidden under his bed.

Her mind raced wildly.

Was Ethan in danger? Had he done something terrible? Or was someone forcing him into this?

She suddenly remembered the bruises on his knuckles last week. The late-night phone calls he always took outside. The way he had become distant over the past few months.

She had ignored every sign.

Tears filled her eyes as panic spread through her chest. She grabbed her phone, ready to call him, but stopped when she heard footsteps downstairs.

The front door slammed shut.

“Victoria?” Ethan’s voice echoed through the house.

Her blood ran cold.

She looked around the room once more, desperate to hide the evidence before he came upstairs. But it was too late. The bedroom door slowly opened behind her.

Ethan stood there frozen, his expression shifting instantly from surprise to fear.

For several long seconds, neither of them spoke.

Then his eyes moved to the open metal box in her hands.

“Victoria…” he whispered quietly. “You weren’t supposed to see that.”

The fear in his voice terrified her more than the gun itself.

Because in that moment, Victoria realized her brother had been living a secret life—and whatever he was involved in was far more dangerous than she could have imagined.
