Once Nikki has a chance to mull all this over and speak to Nate Hastings (Sean Dominic) about her dilemma, she may ultimately move forward with the procedure.

If Nikki is likely to go blind anyway or even die without treatment, she might as well have the surgery and hope for the best.

With that in mind, we have to consider what the outcome of this surgery will be.

When Nikki wakes up following the procedure, will she find that she can’t see?

Since it looks like this storyline will play out all summer long, Nikki may struggle to adapt to life in the dark.

Of course, Nikki could eventually undergo some soapy experimental treatment to restore her vision loss.

Daytime dramas are known for miraculously fixing things like this in the end, so that’s worth keeping in mind.

Whatever the case, Nikki has some tough blows and heartbreaking moments ahead as she tries to deal with this nightmare.

This unexpected news will really rattle Nikki and force her to make some difficult decisions.
