Matt tells Nick he was acting on instinct, that he gets flashes of images but no memories, and that none of what he hears about himself COMPUTES. Then he says the line.

Matt tells Nick he will not stop him from ending his life, but hopes saving Nick takes him a step closer to saving his soul.

Nick says Matt looks CLUELESS. Matt asks if he deserves to die. Nick growls, “I could end you and you would still have that stupid expression on your face. Where would the justice be?” Matt has no answer because he literally has no answer for ANYTHING right now.
